In a dystopian postwar society, a butcher journeys to find his estranged brother, a physicist obsessed with a machine he believes could house a universe. Their reunion erupts in violence, which destroys the machine and claims both their lives. In a reality born from the chaos, the brothers find themselves inexplicably alive, forcing them to confront their past and forge a new bond.
